Romantic Bedrooms

Adding a romantic touch to your bedroom can be easily achieved. Think of curves instead of hard edges when decorating romantic bedrooms. When most people think of romantic bedrooms, they imagine a frilly room filled with flowery designs. True this will help achieve that romantic room, but you don't always need flowers and lace to get that romantic feeling.

A graceful canopy hanging over the bed can add romance to any bedroom. Add some tie-backs to the canopy for full view of your bed covering. Use textured fabrics on bedspreads such as brocades, taffeta, and tapestries. Include some velvet throw pillows with added fringe for a more romantic touch. Soft colors and soft-to-the-touch materials are often found in romantic bedrooms. Sheer curtains will add more of a romantic look to your room. Add a grouping or two of candles for a soft glow. If you use scented candles in soft romantic scents, this will add an even more romantic feeling to your room.

Lighting is probably the most important feature in romantic bedrooms. Add a dimmer to your light switch. This will enable you to lower the lights to any degree. Low lighting will soften the room which you will find very relaxing. Chandeliers offer a touch of romance but often they are expensive. If you can not fit one into your budget you can consider a chandelier lamp. Placed beside the bed these lamps offer the same ambience that the larger chandeliers provide. Flea markets offer some great finds for romantic bedrooms. Antique vases and knickknacks add to any romantic bedroom.

If you can add it to your budget, purchasing a faux fireplace adds instant romance to any bedroom. There is nothing more romantic that a flickering fireplace. You will find these faux fireplaces easy to install. Add some candles to the mantle, a vase of fresh flowers and you will be set for a very romantic evening.
